Weaknesses:
Angus Fangus is a character from the Duck Avenger universe and serves as a chronicler or journalist within this world. He made his debut in PKNA #0 Evronians, which was released in March 1996. Set in Duckburg, Calisota, Angus is an anthropomorphic kiwi with a short and stocky build. His personality can be described as grumpy, hoarse, irascible, selfish, rude, cynical, ambitious, arrogant, hateful, pompous, stubborn, and vindictive at times. However, he also has moments where he is honest, generous, altruistic, and shy.
Angus' weakness lies in his altruism, which sometimes betrays the image he has built for himself. He is originally from New Zealand and shares the anthropomorphic appearance of the national symbol - the kiwi. Unlike other characters in the saga, Angus always dresses rigorously in the same way, except on rare occasions. His attire resembles that of private investigator Umperio Bogarto, wearing a wide-brimmed beige hat, a white shirt, and other clothing items reminiscent of a detective's outfit.
As a journalist, Angus is fully convinced of the independence his profession must have to function effectively. He can be quite stubborn and once he has made up his mind about something, it is difficult to change it. Despite being a freelancer, cleared of any power play, Angus does not hesitate to manipulate facts in order to support his theories. In the first series, he firmly believes that there are conspiracies behind everything happening in Duckburg and takes it upon himself to uncover them.
Main motivation for investigating conspiracies in Duckburg
Angus Fangus' main motivation for investigating conspiracies in Duckburg stems from his belief that there are hidden forces and machinations behind everything happening in the city. This conviction comes from his experiences, such as discovering an illegal toxic waste traffic managed by Cook in Cape Dominion earlier in his career. In exchange for not revealing this information to authorities, Angus demanded that Fenimore commit to safeguarding and protecting the lands of his clan. However, this agreement infuriated Cook and led to Angus moving to Duckburg.
This incident prompted Angus' move towards investigating conspiracies in Duckburg as he felt it was necessary for him to expose these hidden forces and hold those responsible accountable. His determination is further fueled by his stubborn nature, making it difficult to dissuade him from pursuing such investigations.
Angus Fangus' opinion on Duck Avenger
Angus Fangus has a rather... complicated view of Duck Avenger.
On one hand, Angus is deeply skeptical and even hostile towards Duck Avenger's methods and motivations. He sees Duck Avenger as a self-serving vigilante who uses his powers for personal gain and to further his own interests, often at the expense of others.
Angus has been known to criticize Duck Avenger's actions, calling him out for being reckless, arrogant, and even corrupt. He believes that Duck Avenger's methods are not only morally questionable but also ultimately counterproductive, as they can create more problems than they solve.
On the other hand, Angus is forced to admit that Duck Avenger has occasionally stumbled upon important truths or exposed corruption, which he (Angus) might have otherwise missed. Despite their differences, Angus recognizes that Duck Avenger's actions sometimes serve a greater good, even if it's not always intentional on his part.
In summary, Angus Fangus views Duck Avenger as a complex and often problematic figure who is driven by self-interest but occasionally stumbles upon important truths.
